This page should answer most questions you may have about renting the Clover Lawn Community Centre for your event. Our hall is commonly rented for weddings and family reunions, but can also be rented for meetings or other events. Contact us if you have questions.
Basics: The main room of our hall is approximately 65 by 40 feet (2600 square feet). The hall has a kitchen, men’s washroom, women’s washroom, handicapped washroom, bar, stage, pull-down screen for projecting onto and sound system. Fire code capacity for events with liquor is 194 people. Without liquor, with tables and chairs set up, it is 245. Without liquor and with chairs only (such as for a concert, play or large funeral), the fire code is 311. Standing room only is a whopping 583 (without liquor)!
Included in the rental: Full use of the kitchen, grounds, tables (rectangular and round), chairs, multimedia screen, sound system, basic microphone
The kitchen includes: 3 ovens, 12 burners, 2 fridges, 1 freezer, 4 sinks, dishwasher and MANY plates, cups, glasses, bowls, cutlery, spatulas, large spoons, etc.
Add-ons (for a small fee): large coffee urns, large pots, warming trays, bottled water. Ask about using our basic barbeque (free, but you must provide your own propane).
Tables: 17 rectangular tables (2.5 feet x 8 feet) and 10 round tables (5 feet diameter). Both seat 8 comfortably, and the rectangular tables can seat 10. We have a program for playing with the positioning of tables.
Chairs: 198 fabric covered chairs (dark blue). Not for use outside. We do have 40 or so wooden chairs which can be used outside.
Stage: We have a large stage for speeches or skits (18.5 feet wide by 14 feet deep). It has curtains that close and a rather old piano on it (tuned November 2022). In the center of it, there is a pull-down multimedia screen. Included in the rental is a large wooden lectern you may use on the stage or in the main hall. We also have a small step-up stage that can be set up in the main hall if you prefer. It is 6.75 by 4.75 feet.
Lighting: We have 3 settings for the lights in the hall: full-bright, half-bright, and dimmable side lights (great for dances).
The bar: The bar is a separate room with a fridge and sink for bartending. It has a large opening into the main hall that you can open or close.
Timelines: A one-day rental is 24 hours. You may rent the hall for 2 days, for example, from Friday 1 pm to Sunday 1 pm. You choose what time to start.
Other pluses: We have a large coat room in the entry way. There is a garage with an overhang for a smoking area. There are several picnic tables you may use. We have a large outdoor charcoal grill. There is a lovely chair on the premises that is nice for family photos (see below). Be sure to visit our pages about our playground and camping.
Not included: catering, bartender service, linens (table cloths, napkins, etc), enough wine glasses for everyone.
Decorating rules: The only rule is not to stick anything to the white part of the interior walls. You may use existing hooks/nails that are already installed on the wooden beams. 🙂 We have a very tall ladder for reaching the top of the ceiling, if you would like to.
Noise rules: The only rule is that after 11 pm, please keep the south-facing doors of the hall closed to reduce the sound that goes across to the nearest neighbour. We also ask that people camping refrain from any “sound wars” between their car stereos.
Parking: Visitors may park anywhere on the gravel area or on the grass. There are driveways on Range Road 233 and on Highway 616. Try to keep the driveways clear and do not block the community mail boxes.
We hope that all our renters will respect the hall and grounds as if it was their own! Renters will be required to leave a damage deposit prior to renting the hall in case of any damage. Please visit our rules and regulations page for more information.

Please contact us to view the hall and/or book the hall for your event (contact info at bottom of page). To rent our hall, we will require a non-refundable holding deposit of $250 to hold the date for you.
